Paris, France
Audio Consulting was attending the Salon de
la Hifi et du Home Cinema 2007 show together with Magavox in
Paris from 17.03.07 to 18.03.07 at the
Sofitel Sèvvres Hotel
Room Meudon B
A 200 sqm room and 6 m height...
Audio Consulting's system was run entirely off batteries, from
th edigital front end to the power amplifier.
The Loricraft turntable was connected to the mains.
Amplifiers:
1. MIPA
Special version of the MIPA (Mains Independant Power
Amplifier) run on external 200 Ah batteries
The 30 watt /channel MIPA (Mains Independant power
Amplifier) amplifier is a battery powered solid state design.
It uses input and output transformers, very high speed capacitors in the power
supply and the highest quality connectors from WBT and Eichmann Technologies.
According to Audio Consulting's general philosophy, the cabinet is made of wood
(MDF) only.
2. SWGPA (Silver Wire Gain Power Amplifier)
Special version of the SWGPA (Silver Wire Gain Power
Amplifier) run on external 200 Ah batteries
This 8 watt /channel amplifier is a battery powered solid state design.
Voltage gain is achieved using silver wire transformers.
It uses input, voltage gain and output transformers, very high speed capacitors in the power
supply and the highest quality connectors from WBT and Eichmann Technologies.
According to Audio Consulting's general philosophy, the cabinets of the
reference series are made using special wood with very attractive wooden veneers.
No lacquer but organic oils and bee wax are being used as finish. The buttons
are massive Cocobolo, hand polished, and again, no lacquer.
The line preamplifier:
SWGLA (Silver Wire Gain Line Amplifier).
Unity gain, Solid State stage drives silver wire TVC with 10dB voltage
gain in the TVC.
According to Audio Consulting's general philosophy, the cabinets of the
reference series are made using special wood with very attractive wooden veneers.
No lacquer but organic oils and bee wax are being used as finish. The buttons

The analogue front end:
Left:
Lyra Dorian cartridge, tonearm, and Garrard 501
turntable by Loricraft.
The phono preamplifier was Audio Consulting's Silver Rock Phono Signature , featuring 4
silver coils per channel, one being the MC step-up transformer:
No capacitor in the signal path here, as the RIAA is achieved using only
resistors ( one in silver) and silver coils.
Battery power supply allows for extremely low noise as many visitors could
notice.
Right:
Silver Rock MC step up transformer for the use with MC catridges is also available separately.
20 or 26dB of voltage gain are achieved using very exotic magnetics and our
silver wire. Cabinet is made of natural wood and veneer.
No lacquer but only organic bee wax.
Digital front ends:
We used the iPAQ HP 4700 PDA with
Sandisk Extreme IV flash cards and WAV files.
About 80 tracks were available on a 4GB flash card and allowed
never to run out of choice during the show.
4VDC/280 Ah battery, with over 400'000uF of capacitice decoupling .
Cabinets by Olivier Soufflet.
